Former Detroit Pistons star Chauncey Billups scores first Salon Plaza franchise in metro Detroit

Former Detroit Pistons star Chauncey Billups is breaking into the salon industry in an effort to equip local independent hair stylists, nail technicians and aestheticians with the tools to own their businesses without the added costs or hassle of running their own establishments.

Billups and his wife, Piper, signed a development deal with McLean, Va.-based chain Salon Plaza to bring a minimum of five of the salon suite concepts to Michigan.
